Since joining the Lakeside campus in November of 2022, Brooke Heinemann has been a fantastic addition to the community and embodies our CHRIST Promises each and every day.
Brooke demonstrates and exemplifies our CHRIST Promises each time she is in the community, especially through her interactions and relationships with others.
According to her peers and nomination forms, Brooke puts in an incredible amount of time, energy, and creativity to develop our monthly Thrive class calendars. Not only does she ensure it’s filled with high-quality, engaging opportunities, but she is consistently exceeding our Home Office Wellness Standards. Her intentional planning ensures our residents have meaningful options that support their physical health, social engagement, cognitive stimulation, and overall well-being.
One of Brooke’s greatest gifts is her ability to create fun, competitive, and highly engaging tournaments and fitness challenges that bring our community together. Her cornhole tournaments have become true highlights for our residents, especially when she centers them around holidays and global events. A most recent example was her Super Bowl Cornhole Tournament. Brooke personally crafted trophies resembling the Lombardi Trophy for the winning team, designed the back of the boards to look like football field goal uprights, and even incorporated them into the scoring system.
Recently, Brooke developed a walking challenge that encouraged residents to “travel” across Nebraska by reaching mileage goals tied to landmarks throughout the state. As motivation, she offered an attainable and exciting reward: A free trip to Lincoln to tour Memorial Stadium for those who met the challenge goals. The residents were incredibly invested because of Brooke’s creativity and encouragement, and the trip itself was unforgettable.
According to her manager, Brooke has elevated Lakeside's wellness programming to an extraordinary level and has truly gone above and beyond for our residents, members, and community. Brooke has single-handedly raised the bar for wellness coordinators across our company through the excellence and intentionality of her programming. Brooke consistently lives out the spirit of the CHRIST Promises in her service, integrity, and genuine care for others. Great memories are being made because of her dedication, and our residents’ lives are richer because of her work. She makes Lakeside shine in many ways.
