Michael Barr and Ryan Lyle (accounting and finance), Lynnelle Clark (administration), and Karissa Birchem (marketing) represented Immanuel at the Lutheran Family Services Swing for a Cause golf tournament at Iron Horse Golf Club in Ashland, Nebraska. This was Immanuel’s first time participating.
The tournament raised money for programs including behavioral healthcare, refugee assistance, children’s services, and military veterans services, which provides confidential counseling, peer support, and care coordination for active military, veterans, and their families. The Link group was especially moved by a story shared by the father of a 23-year-old service member killed in action in Afghanistan, underscoring the vital impact of these services.
While the scorecard wasn't anything to brag about, the team still had a blast – and technically walked away with an eagle on a 458-yard par 4. (If anyone asks, they just had a little extra firepower behind that drive ... and by firepower, they mean a literal golf ball cannon.)
