Immanuel’s The Landing supports community with Serving Hands sponsorship
January 16, 2023Immanuel’s The Landing at Williamsburg Village is proud to announce their sponsorship of the latest community art project, Serving Hands. The art project, benefiting Lincoln’s Campus Life, support’s Immanuel’s mission of Christ-Centered Service to Seniors, Each Other and the Community.
“We’re thrilled to support such a wonderful project and an organization whose mission of service aligns with our own,” said Eric Gurley, Immanuel president and CEO. “Serving is not only a mission of our organization, but of the senior residents of The Landing, whose generous philanthropic spirits inspired the support of this project.”
Serving Hands celebrates the 50th anniversary of Campus Life, an organization which has impacted teens in and around Lincoln. The project, modeled after other public art projects such as Tour de Lincoln (bike sculptures) and Illuminating Lincoln: Lighthouse (light bulb sculptures) will feature 50, six-foot-tall fiberglass “hand” sculptures created by local artists. You can learn more about the project via its website, www.servinghandslincoln.org.
Through their sponsorship, a Serving Hands sculpture, ‘The Light of Hope’ from artist Lila Rose Vamosi is displayed on The Landing’s retirement living campus located in Lincoln’s Williamsburg neighborhood.
As a not-profit organization and a serving arm of the ELCA, serving the community has been integral for the Immanuel organization for over 130 years. The organization, as well as generous spirit of residents who call one of their 14 senior living communities home, have supported countless local organizations over the years. The Immanuel Vision Foundation supports this mission on a corporate level. Just last year, after learning of 21 Nebraska nursing homes placed into receivership, the foundation designated $250,000 to help purchase food and supplies for the needs of residents and staff. The foundation has awarded over $5 million to service-driven organizations since 2015.
