Immanuel CEO and employees recognized by LeadingAge Nebraska Awards
March 26, 2026
Immanuel is proud to celebrate several outstanding employees who were honored at the LeadingAge Nebraska 2026 Annual Conference & Expo.
Held March 16-18, 2026, at the Younes Conference Center South in Kearney, Nebraska, the event brought together aging‑services professionals from across the state to share insights, strengthen partnerships, and recognize individuals advancing care and support for older adults.
This year’s theme, Changemakers, put a well-deserved spotlight on exceptional professionals transforming our field. Immanuel is honored that multiple members of our organization stood out among such inspiring peers.
Eric Gurley receives the Ron Jensen Memorial Award for Advocacy and Public Policy
Immanuel President and CEO Eric Gurley (photo shown at the top) was awarded the Ron Jensen Memorial Award for Advocacy and Public Policy, one of LeadingAge Nebraska’s highest honors.
This award is presented to an individual or organization that demonstrates exceptional service in advocating for aging‑services providers and the older adults they serve. Recipients are recognized for influencing public policy, raising awareness of sector needs, and leading meaningful initiatives that strengthen long‑term care across Nebraska.
Eric’s work has consistently exemplified these standards. Through his leadership at Immanuel and active engagement in statewide efforts, he has contributed to shaping policy discussions, supporting provider needs, and advancing mission‑driven approaches to care. The award carries special significance, given its namesake, former LeadingAge Nebraska CEO Ron Jensen, whose legacy of advocacy remains a cornerstone of the organization.
Brody Chandler named Admiral of the Nebraska Navy
Brody Chandler, Executive Director at Lakeside, received the honorary title of Admiral of the Nebraska Navy from Governor Jim Pillen for his service as chairperson of the LeadingAge Nebraska Board.
The title is traditionally given to individuals who demonstrate outstanding service and leadership within the state. Brody’s contributions to both LeadingAge Nebraska and Immanuel reflect that level of dedication and impact.
Immanuel team members recognized with 2026 Changemaker Awards
LeadingAge Nebraska introduced the Changemaker Awards, a one-time program honoring frontline employees whose creativity and compassion make an impact.
Five Immanuel employees were selected for this distinction:
- Lara Kennedy, Life Enrichment Specialist, Immanuel Courtyard
- Ashley Diggins, Administration & Sales Assistant, Immanuel Village
- Amber Lihs, Life Enrichment Manager, The Landing
- Carly Faltin, Social Services Coordinator, Trinity Courtyard
- Eve Buettner, Social Services Supervisor, The Lighthouse
These individuals represent the heart of our mission. Through life enrichment programming, administrative support, and social services, they enhance the daily experiences of residents and families. They also exemplify the qualities celebrated by this year’s theme.
We congratulate Eric, Brody, Lara, Ashley, Amber, Carly, and Eve for their remarkable achievements. Their dedication and excellence shine as a testament to Immanuel’s knowledgeable leadership, high-quality care, and mission-driven service to older adults.
