Even when we share the same language, every generation has its own style. Those differences can make everyday conversations feel completely unfamiliar.
That idea inspired this video in the Connecting Generations, Sharing Stories series. Gen Z Immanuel team members introduced residents to some unique expressions their generations uses and what they mean. Words like “slay” and “yeet” spark curiosity, surprise, and plenty of laughter as everyone shares their best guesses and reactions.
What makes moments like these so meaningful isn’t getting every definition right; it’s the shared experience. These lighthearted conversations highlight how much we can learn from one another.
After all, humor has a way of bringing people together, regardless of age.
