Since joining the Lakeside campus in March of 2019, Barb Real has been a fantastic addition to the community and embodies our CHRIST Promises each and every day.
Barb demonstrates and exemplifies our CHRIST Promises each time she is in the community – especially through her interactions, service, and relationships with others.
According to her nomination forms, Barb models all the CHRIST Promises each and every day that she is in the community. She shows up to the community on time each day, is always reliable, and does her job correctly. She has great compassion for our residents and treats them like family. She acknowledges every resident in the hallway with a smile and “hello.” She has built strong relationships with both residents and their families and can often be found visiting, joking around, and laughing with them.
Barb is always willing to do extra for the residents she cleans for, especially those residents who may be struggling. She will do a resident’s dishes if she sees that they are always piled up, even though it’s not part of the normal cleaning process. She has several residents who request that Barb skip them if she is on vacation, or skip them because they don’t want anyone but her to clean.
Barb is always willing to help her co-workers with laundry, annual deep cleans, or other tasks. She always makes sure the laundry is taken care of before she leaves, even if it is not her laundry day. She can be trusted to do the right thing when no one is looking. Barb is an asset to the housekeeping team and has been a fantastic addition to our community. She is appreciated by so many! Barb is an employee who proudly embodies our CHRIST Promises daily and truly makes Lakeside a better place to live and work.
