Immanuel Communities’ Lakeside Village campus celebrated mission, innovation and active retirement last week with the grand opening celebration of Thrive by Immanuel Wellness Center and Day Spa, three chef-inspired restaurants and Nebraska’s first retirement community designed for the young, active retiree, Lakeside Lofts. The celebrations, held on March 28, welcomed community members and leaders as well as senior residents who inspired the new amenities. A State of Nebraska Proclamation and Mayoral Proclamation were presented, declaring the day Innovation in Retirement and Active Seniors Day.
“This was a celebration of mission at Lakeside Village,” said Eric Gurley, Immanuel president and CEO. “Our not-for-profit mission calls us to continually reinvest in our communities to provide the best possible experience for residents. These changes are innovation in action, a reinvention of retirement and a promise to continue leading and reinvesting in the places seniors call home.”
Thrive by Immanuel Wellness Center and Day Spa allows residents a renewed focus on health and wellness, with enhanced programming that uplifts, connects and encourages residents to live their best lives. Expert wellness staff help residents achieve goals to help them reinvent the retirement they want - whether that’s making new social connections, managing a health condition or getting ready for a trip. The Thrive day spa was designed with tranquility in mind, offering full salon services as well as relaxing and therapeutic massage treatments like aromatherapy and Hawaiian hot stones.
With chef-inspired menus and local ingredients, three new restaurants on the Lakeside Village campus are revolutionizing senior dining. Bistro1887 honors the founding year of Immanuel and offers an upscale, urban-feel casual bistro. At the Cast Iron Grille, you’ll find burgers, steaks and potatoes as well as a place for residents to gather together and share conversation over familiar food. The Reserve on Frances Street is the community’s new intimate, upscale restaurant offering a rotating four-course menu offers chef inspired, fine dining options like crab beignet, roasted game hen and salted caramel crème brûlée.
The cornerstone celebration of the event is Nebraska’s first ‘first-stage retirement community’. Lakeside Lofts opened last fall and bring a larger, upscale, luxury apartment to the campus and features thoughtful architecture, open concepts, floor to ceiling windows and beautiful lake views.
